Family: Acanthaceae<\/i><\/div>\n
Description:\u00a0<\/div>\n
Erect herbs, 0.5-1 m tall. Stem 4-angled, pubescent. Leaves opposite; lamina subsessile, ovate 2.5-7 \u00d7 2-4 cm, pubescent, base decurrent, apex acute, margin entire. Flowers monosymmetric, pink, 1 cm across, in terminal lax panicles upto 20 cm long. Calyx deeply 5-lobed; lobes narrow, glabrous. Corolla bilipped; upper lip 2 lobed, lower 3 lobed; pink with purple blotches.\u00a0 Stamens 2, filaments and anthers glabrous; anthers pink, elliptic. Carpels 2, syncarpous, superior; style as long as staminal filaments, glabrous, stigma spatulate.\u00a0Capsule 1.5-2 cm, ribbed, glandular hairy.<\/font><\/div>\n
Habitat & location: Rare. Endemic to Peninsular India.<\/font>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
