Lycium barbarum<\/em>\u00a0family\u00a0Solanaceae<\/em>\u00a0(Garothi<\/strong>\u00a0= \u00a0Local name)\u00a0another major food item of Grey Hypocolius<\/span>\u00a0in Kutch, Gujarat, India.<\/span><\/div>\n
Although the major food item still remains the ripe and unripe berries of\u00a0Salvadora persica<\/em>\u00a0(Khari jar_local name), Grey Hypocolius do feed on the berries and flower buds of\u00a0Lycium<\/em>\u00a0bush in Kutch, this was observed on many occasion. The identity of this was established yesterday while discussing this with Botanist Dr. Pankaj Joshi.<\/div>\n
Here in this picture you can see a grey hypocolius male on\u00a0Lycium<\/em>\u00a0bush. They do roost in these bushes.<\/div>\n
grey Hypocolius<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0are still in Kutch till 12 th April 2008. I am going to check their roost tomorrow.<\/div>\n
Last year the last sighting was on 16 th April 2008.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
