\nThe paper on Sida is very useful, I would like to know a species of Sida which I could not found any match efi collection<\/p>\n

On checking with keys in the\u00a0A Synopsis of the genus Sida L. (Malvaceae) from Maharashtra, India<\/a>\u2013 Gajanan M. TAMBDE, Ramchandra D. GORE and Milind M. SARDESAI- Taiwania 61(3): 243\u2012252, 2016, as both sides of the leaves are not concolourous, it rules out\u00a0S.scrabida<\/em>.
\n<\/span>For,\u00a0S.spinosa<\/b>, keys say ‘<\/span>Petioles with 1\u20133 spiny emergences (spurs) at base’, pl. check this aspect. Otherwise it appears to be close to\u00a0<\/em>Sida ovata<\/em>\u00a0Forssk.<\/u><\/p>\n

As per my observations and\u00a0field study the species\u00a0Sida scabrida<\/i>\u00a0is mostly confused as\u00a0Sida\u00a0rhombifolia\u00a0<\/i>in field\u00a0but mainly differs due to leaves and joint of pedicels.\u00a0Sida scabrida\u00a0<\/i>have concolorous leaves and pedicels without joint, while non-concolorous leaves and jointed pedicels are seen in\u00a0Sida rhombifolia.\u00a0<\/i>The specimens collected from Kolhapur district seem to have concolorous leaves.<\/div>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Spiny emergence\u00a0at the base of the petiole is a very common characteristic for the\u00a0Sida spinosa<\/i>. But sometimes in\u00a0Sida ovata\u00a0<\/i>the spiny spurs are seen when a plant faces harm due to regular grazing.\u00a0Sida spinosa\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0S.ovata\u00a0<\/i>are also differs from each other due to variation in leaves, presence or absence of spiny spur, awns of mericarps (very long in\u00a0S. spinosa\u00a0<\/i>while short in\u00a0S. ovata\u00a0<\/i>for more details please see<\/p>\n
