This is Cryptocarya<\/em> of Lauraceae.<\/em> A number of new species (3-4) were described by Gangopadhyay in 2006 and it seems one of them.<\/p>\n

If Cryptocarya,<\/em> then it may be a new record also. Please try to collect specimens.<\/p>\n

\n

Any chances of it being some Sarcosperma<\/em> species?<\/p>\n

Sarcosperma arboreum<\/em>?<\/p>\n

Looks different from images at\u00a0Sarcosperma arboreum<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

What are the species of\u00a0Cryptocarya<\/em> reported in your book?<\/p>\n

\nOnly Cryptocary amygdalina<\/em> is reported in Mizoram as per my book.<\/p>\n

\n

I checked all the species listed in the\u00a0checklist\u00a0of\u00a0BSI Flora of India<\/a>, with distribution in the North East.<\/p>\n

\nCryptocarya cavei<\/a><\/em>
\nCryptocarya dekae<\/a><\/em>
\nCryptocarya ferrari<\/a><\/em>
\nCryptocarya simonsii<\/a><\/em><\/div>\n

I could not find any specimens\u00a0in POWO and GBIF except for one at\u00a0Cryptocarya ferrari<\/a><\/em>.
\nThere is some possibility of\u00a0Cryptocarya amygdalina<\/em>, although\u00a0there is some difference in apex and fruit shape is also slightly different as per\u00a0GBIF<\/a>\u00a0specimens-\u00a0one<\/a>,\u00a0two<\/a>,\u00a0three<\/a>,\u00a0four<\/a>.<\/div>\n
