Looks different from images at Actinodaphne sikkimensis

May be some Neolitsea/ Litsea species as per comparative images herein.

Does not look matching with both sp. and all listed in ACFPN whichever images available in the net.

Fruits are in a bunch of more than 10, all facing upwards and tapering at the end and almost pointed.

Images are not of Actinodaphne sikkimensis, It is Litsea species. Flowers are lacking but very near to Litsea chartacea (Wall. ex Nees) Hook.f.

Thank you …, Yes it matches I guess. Measurement of drupe is also matching.

Hope ID is correct.

Is it from the same place: Godawari, Lalitpur,, Nepal?

Same tree.

So ID is OK according to flowers ?

I think so.

Dear …: It needs to be corrected in the site, and https://groups.google.com/indiantreepix/VJI as well.

Dear …: Please ignore the Nepali Names I have sent earlier. There is no Nepali Name

for this sp. so far.

Is this id not correct?

I think the images in the link provided by you represent Litsea chartacea(Wall. ex Nees) Hook.f. because here the flowering and fruiting umbels are clustered on branches and leaf axils (may be on short brachyblasts) unlike Litsea doshia in which the umbels are borne on special short branches simulating racemes.

May I request you to pl. go through POWO specimen and GBIF specimens- one and two of Litsea doshia

Pl. see the fruits and their attachments to the stems. and also the back side of the leaf.

These appear to be more closer to the posted plant.

Look different from Litsea chartacea (Wall. ex Nees) Hook.f. as per GBIF specimens (one, two).

So far as my knowledge goes, Litsea doshia is characterized by the umbels borne on short branches looking like a raceme whereas the umbels in L. chartacea are clustered on main branchlets and in the axils of the leaves.

But it looks different than stated by you as per POWO specimen and GBIF specimens- one and two of Litsea doshia

I am unable to clarify any further with my limited knowledge on Litsea.
