Continued use of your plant images by RBG Kew<\/a>:<\/p>\n

You were previously in contact with … regarding Kew’s use of your images on the “Plants of the World” (POWO) website.<\/div>\n
We remain extremely grateful for your support.\u00a0 Kew continues to grow its scientific datasets and to extend how we communicate about plants\u00a0to different audiences.\u00a0 We are writing,\u00a0 therefore, to seek your permission for RBG Kew to use your images for other Kew science projects and websites.<\/div>\n
You previously authorised Kew’s use of your images whilst retaining all copyright rights.\u00a0 We now seek your approval of our wider use for Kew websites.<\/div>\n
In the short term\u00a0we wish to use your images for the public-facing scientific data portal: “Medicinal Plant Names Services”\u00a0www.kew.org\/mpns<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0 This\u00a0website focuses\u00a0on the correct names for plants that are used as herbal medicines and natural products.\u00a0 In the longer term we aim to extend the scope to “Plants for Health”. We propose using your images in these websites as they are now used in POWO:<\/div>\n

    your original high-quality images will not be made available.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    each of your images will be independently credited\u00a0using your chosen copyright name.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    all your images will explicitly say \u201call rights reserved\u201d.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

    RBG Kew will not present or share any further information about yourself.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    We hope that you can agree to this further\u00a0NON-COMMERCIAL\u00a0<\/b>use of your images by RBG Kew.<\/div>\n

    2. “NO” –\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 if you prefer that your images only be used for Plants of the World Online<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      If we do not hear back then we will assume that you prefer us NOT to use your images more widely within Kew.<\/div>\n
