The beautiful creeper of Bauhinia Kokiana or Cock’s Bauhinia taken at Kandy, Sri Lanka during November, 2010.  

This is so strangely different. The correct spelling should be Bauhinia kockiana Korth.

Can some one explain to me/us… what makes a bauhinia a bauhinia…
ie the most diagnostic characteristic of Bauhinia?
