A herb may be 3 feet in height growing wild
Flower size 1 cm or so.

Don’t remember area but must be from Western ghats.

Lamiaceae member from Varandha ghat: Attachments (4) – 1 MB each.
Any guesses for following plant

Location: Varandha ghat, Shivthar ghal, Raigad,
Collection date: 29.10.12
Habit: Suffruticose, undershrubs upto 10 feet
Stem: Quadrangular, winged
Leaves: Lanceolate, Serrate sparsely hairy, Variable in sizes (4-15×2-10 cm), venation prominent below.
Flower: 1-1.5 cm long. White colored with violet spots on lower lobe.

Plz id another small and beautiful flower of a herb from Matheran region. It is around two and a half foot erect herb and the stem is four sided.

Herb ID request – RK58 – 16-Dec-2012: Request identification of this herb of about 2 -3 feet height in Tungareshwar. The stem is ridged and 4-sided and it is flowering now (17.12.12).

If this is the A. heyneana, then do we get in a complete white flower version?


Yes …, we do find white-coloured flowers of Anisomeles heyneana.


 

While searching for some pictures, I came across this picture that I missed earlier.

Not very sure if it comes under Acanthaceae.
Seen at Maharashtra Nature Park.
I have only one picture.


For me this is more likely to be from Lamiaceae, may be Anisomeles..

I think it is Anisomeles heyneana only as it is found in Northern parts of W Ghats.

The flower stalk in my pics is very long whereas in the pics given in Mr. Issac’s book (page 98) & Mr. Shrikant’s book (page 175) it is not so long.
