Help building a key for genus Hibiscus:

Our website already has keys for Indian species of Solanum, Cassia, Senna and Chamaecrista. It is proposed to build a similar key for the genus. The first step towards this is preparing an updated list of Indian species (Both wild as well as cultivated, as several cultivated herbs often run as escape and trees and shrubs are often difficult to place as wild or planted, especially because of plantation drives in the recent years). I am sharing a preliminary list. Kindly suggest additions or corrections.

I think Abelmoschus tuberculatus Pal & Singh and Abelmoschus moschatus subsp. tuberosus (Span.) Borss.Waalk. may be added to the list (Ref. GRIN).
I am not sure of the current status of Abelmoschus manihot subsp. tetraphyllus var. megaspermus Hemadri
And, for the name Hibiscus angulosus in the list, Abelmoschus angulosus Wall. ex Wight & Arn. seem to be the accepted name (GRIN & TPL).

Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts-    Magenta
Other Information like Fragrance, Pollinator, Uses etc.-    No fragrance

– May be some hybrid of Hibiscus radiatus.

– I think .. is right. The epicalyx of Hibiscus are clearly seen.

Pink Hibiscus on a White hibiscus Tree : 170611 : AK-1: Saw a ‘Hibiscus’ post today.
A similar thing has been happening on the Hibiscus tree in our Nasik home garden.
It is a White hibiscus tree….occasionally you get a Pink Hibiscus on the same tree.
There is a Pink Hibiscus also ….a little away from this tree.

Could we have any expert explanation for this?

A special cultivation perhaps? I have seen such plants in some gardens and also for sale. Hibiscus with two colors, mostly white and lila.

I think the Pink variety is grafted to the white one or vice versa and afterwards forgot.

its happens with La France verity.

Hibiscus: I have found a peculiar Hibiscus plant in my garden.
I have attached photos herewith.
In this plant white flowers are expected but suddenly a pinkish flower
appeared in it along with white flowers…
