Kindly identify
Small herb
Shimla Water Catchment Area Wildlife Sanctuary
June 2016

This is surely not Indigofera, could be any species of Crotalaria.
Me too had collected this species from Chakrata, Uttrakhand last week. I will go through this soon and will let you know.

Crotalaria species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available)

Any Indigofera species ?

Does not match with any Indigofera species in efi so far

One seeded compressed pod suggest any Lespedeza species.

Lespedeza juncea (L.f.) Pers. (accepted name) ??

I think matches with images at Lespedeza juncea

Nepali Name: भैंसाइनो Bhaisaaino

.

SK 3034 11 October 2021: 6 very high res. images.
Location: Jumla, West Nepal
Altitude: 2308m.
Date: 17 August 2021
Habit : Wild
Lespedeza juncea f. variegata (Cambess.) H. Ohashi ??

Appears close to images at Lespedeza juncea
Here are the keys from Flora of Pakistan:

5 (4) Length of pedicel and peduncle more than 5 mm long (leaflets obovate) Lespedeza juncea var. juncea
+ Length of pedicel and peduncle less than 5 mm long (6)
6 (5) Leaflets obovate Lespedeza juncea var. variegata
+ Leaflets oblanceolate Lespedeza juncea var. sericea

Going strictly by the above keys, most of our observations may be of Lespedeza juncea var. variegata (Camb.) Ali

Lespedeza juncea f. variegata (Cambess.) H. Ohashi

A reference on this plant: https://iiim.res.in/herbarium/lespedeza_juncea_var.htm

But this variety is not accepted by POWO 1 (Not accepted by Govaerts, R., Nic Lughadha, E., Black, N., Turner, R. & Paton, A. (2021)) and POWO 2

So we keep it under Lespedeza juncea only.

I will Go with Lespedeza juncea var-sericea
As per the images at

https://efloraofindia.com/species/a—l/f/fabaceae/lespedeza/lespedeza-juncea-var-sericea

No.
At https://efloraofindia.com/2012/05/21/lespedeza-juncea-var-sericea/, we have narrower but longer oblanceolate leaflets and highly reduced peduncle and pedicel.

We will check again…
