Close up is looking great. Nice pictures of a Caesalpiniaceae member. I have seen this in Amboli/Kolhapur/Panhala etc. Don’t know the closest place from Pune where one can find it. Has anybody seen it in Tamhini or May be near Satara ghat sections? Once again its a endemic plant to western ghats. I have seen Wakeri at the Raigad fort base.

It was clicked in January 2017, in South Goa, hilly terrain Is it Moullava spicata ? Yes …, your sharp eyes detected the plant. Never seen in fruiting though very very common in Goa.

Seen Moullava spicata at many places around Rajapur (coastal MH) in the last week of December 2020.
The route was a pleasant sight with these vibrant red/orange spikes dotting the view at many places. Superb photos. .
On 31 Dec. 2022, saw a unique inflorescence of Moullava spicata in Amboli.
Please comment if it is normal or unusual inflorescence.
Saw in Amboli, At Roadside, with 3 non usual inflorescence out of other normal inflorescence,
