In old threads I have been told that P. hydropiper has lax flowered inflorescence. FoC or FoP also supports that. Yet overall looks of this plant is like that of P. hydropier – http://herbier.sesa-aude.fr/Polygonum-hydropiper. Please ensure leaf base is cuneate which is not clear in the attached pictures. Thanks … for the info…. Persicaria hydropiper (L.) Spach (accepted name) ??? : 6 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (4)

These plants are flanking the roadside wherever there is running rainwater. The plants I photographed are growing next to cultivated fields. These are about three-feet tall and growing in clusters. I think this is Persicaria hydropiper but I am not entirely sure. Please advise. Persicaria hydropiper?
