Found the plant really eye-catching, on the end of a vacant land in the outskirts of Bangalore. There seem to have been a few discussion on it already, some of which I have copied here but thought I would share the photos anyway 🙂

Yes from me too. I have seen this in Lalbagh.


What I have seen is a climber in Lalbagh: climbing up to almost 10 ft. Recheck the habit pl.


The plant was single without any support. It was broken. Photo attached.

Recently I saw  Solanum seaforthianum .  
The habit is as you have mentioned a climber.
(My earlier observation was based on isolated plant looking like a shrub as it was not having any support.)
