Fabaceae-Caesalpinioideae (Caesalpiniaceae) Week: Cassia for ID SMP2 7/12/2011: A shrub about 3-4 feet high.
I think I have observed it near Bhigvan Maharashtra.
I can’t place it somehow. Stipules are not easily seen here to name it C.auriculata but I think it is.

Some how I am not convinced with Senna auriculata

1. stipules are generally so prominent in that it can’t be missed
2. The species has 6-13 pairs of leaflets, but here I can’t count more than six in any leaf, 4, 5 or 6 pairs are seen in many
3. Glands can be seen even in some upper pairs and they appear sessile
4. fruit has not more than 8 seeds, whereas they should be 20-35 in that species.

Agreed …
We have to dig it further…..

Senna auriculata (L.) Roxb. as per images herein.
