Please id this Brinjal plant with white flowers seen at a farm here in Muscat on 5/2/2010.
Only this plant had white flowers, all other plants had the usual purple flowers.
Brinjals not seen when the picture was taken.
Height of plant around 3 feet.

Is the name Solanum melongena correct?

I think you are correct, Solanum melongena. Your egg plant is spiny, so this may be S. melongena ‘Gelatik’ (according to my student, …).

It was a herbaceous shrub growing wild along roadside near to human habitat, about a metre high, unarmed.
I think this must be Solanum melongena. Please validate.
