Your comments please This is Solanum sisymbriifolium if I am not wrong. You are right. Herb, deeply pinnately lobed leaves, white flowers and densely prickly calyx all go with S. sisymbriifolium. Annual prickly herb, prickles straight, up to 15 mm long; plant sticky pubescent, leaves pinnately lobed; flowers white or pale blue, about 4 cm across; calyx prickly; fruit red, about 1 cm across, enclosed in calyx. These pics were recorded from Karnal and Yamunanagar, this spiny herb with deep red fruits is not much common, in fact I could see this at two sites only, one of them had this in cultivation..

These plants seen in abundance in open area near Asansol (W.B.). Pic. taken on 26/01/11. – Much of features of this plant resemble with Solanum xanthocarpum except for the petal colour, I am waiting for further inputs. – .. you may be right. White flowered forms have been reported in this species according to the eFlora of Pakistan. Bright colour of leaves and long yellow prickles are characteristic for this species. By the way both S. xanthocarpum Schrad. and S. surattense Burm.f. are now treated as synonyms of S. virginianum L., considered as correct name for the species. The image placed under the species Solanum virginianum L. posted by … in google groups on 28.01.2011 is belonging to Solanum sisymbrifolium Lam.
