Few elders said it is ‘pathiri’ in malayalam.

I was told this is Stereospermum angustifolium? How does one differentiate it from Stereospermum chelonoides? Wrightia tinctoria (Apocynaceae) Now called Stereospermum personatum [S.colias]. It differs from S.chelonoides by having leaves that are often serrulate and dull-purple flowers, whereas in the latter the flowers are yellow tinged with reddish purple. I doubt about the identification because no phyllanthus species has the leaves origin from the same point while your plants uploaded show that two leaves originate at the same point needs further identification To me this looks like Padal [Stereospermum personatum syn. I think its difficult to differentiate two species with these photos, because the corolla from outside is purple, it will be great if pod photo is available, i think that would help in proper identification, but still i guess S. chenoloides (its very common in Alibaug) Even though these two species are distinct, the nomenclature of the group is very confusing.

Hope you would help me heartily It’s not developed privately in nurseries I assume. But Forest nurseries develop.
You have to contact your State Forest research Wing.
Else I think MP Forest research Wing develop and have the seedlings.
Another options:
1.But easily grow from seeds. You have to find the tree from a nearby hills.
2. It can be developed through cuttings. Thank you for your response .
It is very rare in West Bengal and neither state run nor the private nurseries make its saplings.
