HEDYCHIUM AURANTIACUM: If you have visited Arunachal Pradesh you must have seen the flowers of the attached image on the road side. In fact there are so many types of Hedychium Sp at that place. Hedychium aurantiacum grows in gardens at Tezpur (Assam). It is blooming in our garden at Cooch Behar at present.

I collected this plant from Tezpur (Assam), and it is doing well at this place. Arunachal Pradesh has got quite a number of wild variety of Hedychium. Brig. S N Chatterjee collected quite a number from Arunachal and planted those at his house at Tezpur.

Is this a Hedychium sp. ?

this color is new to me. I only see yellow here in southern 24 paraganas


This is common here.

Yes !


do you have pictures? can they be shared?
