Vernicia fordii (Cultivated)

It is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree growing to 20 m tall, with a spreading crown. The bark is smooth and thin, and bleeds latex if cut.
The leaves are alternate, simple, 4.5–25 cm long and 3.5–22 cm broad, heart-shaped or with three shallow, maple-like lobes, green above and below, red conspicuous glands at the base of the leaf, and with a 5.5–26 cm long petiole. 
The flowers are 2.5–3.5 cm diameter, with five pale pink to purple petals with streaks of darker red or purple in the throat; it is monoecious with individual flowers either male or female, but produced together in the inflorescences. The flowers appear before or with the leaves in loose, terminal clusters. 
The fruit is a hard, woody pear-shaped drupe 4–6 cm long and 3–5 cm diameter, containing four or five large, oily seeds; it is green initially, becoming dull brown when ripe in autumn

thankyou for this tree….i have a specimen of this species in Chandigarh ‘i suppose’. the tree is yet to be identified but it looks the same, at least the leaves and the canopy. didnt get the flowers so couldn’t confirm its identity….can you guide me to the flowering season of the tree so i can confirm the identity of my specimen….???

Thanks for the ID … The tree is on wheeler road extension, at the intersection of milton street. Right in front of Basha department store.

Aleurites species. The leaves of Vernicia fordii (Aleuritis fordii) look some what different.

It is certainly Vernicia (= Aleurites), but species could be identified from flowers.

I rememeber two boys poisnoned and rushed to our Docir in IBG 40 yr s ago. At least there is a warning in Lalbagh but no scuch in IBG. Diffenbachia was used on criminals in history and so called dumb cane.in any pocket books of one dollar

As already said the leaves of this species donot match A. fordii. Mostly this species could be Reutealis trisperma Synonyms: Aleurites trisperma (common name: Philippine Tung Tree, Soft Lumbang Tree).

I have found this plant in our botanical garden Karnatak University, Dharwad. It is written that it is a Aleurites spp. I too found this in the Google but unable to identify the species after checking it in flowersofindia.net and theplantlist.org.
Attached some photos of the tree, and some photos of T.S of ovary, stamen attached to the stigma (syngenicious), please help in identifying the species.

google search shows two types of leaf shape. photos from reputable sources on google search “Aleurites moluccana leaves”

On checking the comparative images the plant looks like Vernicia fordii.
For further comments by other experts.
