Orthosiphon aristatus.

There seems to be some confusion in your first picture as it does not appear to be of Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume) Miq. as per images herein.
It is being shown against Orthosiphon thymiflorus in Flowersofindia. but this also does not match with images at Orthosiphon thymiflorus (Roth) Sleesen
Pl. check & confirm.

cat’s whiskers
Orthosiphon aristatus
I saw it in Hawaaii bot garden a few years ago.
Java tea, supposedly a good tea
this link has this  following write up:
I quote:  “Food (Herb and Spice)
Medicinal (It is mainly taken to stimulate urination.
According to Indonesian and Malaysian folk medicine, bladder or kidney pain, gout, rheumatism and arteriosclerosis can be treated by drinking a decoction of leaves boiled in water. In Vietnamese folk medicine, a plant infusion is used to treat influenza, hepatits, rheumatism, jaundice and fever, as well as stimulating urination. In India, this plant is used to treat diabetes in combination with the herb Andrographis paniculata.)”
MY question: is it planted or growing on its own? what kind of grounds?
