Purple shamrock (Plant 138 SMP): A garden plant from oxalidaceae family.
I think this is Purple shamrock.
Oxalis regnellii atropurpurea

Yes purple oxalis, get light mauve flowers, your flower is perhaps a day or two old… with rolled over edges, when it first opens the petals are arranged in a deep v around the ovary and long …
small seed pods if appropriate pollinators are around..

Beautiful plant. Never thought Oxalis could be used in garden….

Kindly validate the above seen in Jijamata Udyan, Mumbai during Dec,2007.
The correct id is Oxalis regnellii var. triangularis or Oxalis regnellii atropurpurea?
Common name Purple Shamrock.
A cultivated, ornamental, potted plant.
Please confirm id and correct me if wrong.

Very good upload … but the correct name is O. triangularis A. St.Hil., 1825, It can’t be O. regnellii var. triangularis as O. regnellii Miq., 1849 is a later name.

Came across this herb at “Botanical Garden, Nagpur”.
