Passiflora amethystina from California: Passiflora amethystina J.C.Mikan, Fl. Flumin. 9: t. 84 1831.
syn: Passiflora violacea Vell.
Some what similar to Passiflora alato-caerulea but with narrower leaf segments with but distinctly serrulate margins; purple sepals, awned; petals purplish, and corona clearly white at base purple at apex.; ovary villous.
