Shurb 0.5-2m, leaves ± coriaceous, 3-foliate, elliptic or obovate, 2-6(-9) x 1.5-3.5(-4)cm, acute or obtuse, base rounded, appressed pubescent especially beneath, petioles 2-5cm, stipels subulate 2-3mm, stipules lanceolate, 6-10 x 1.5-2mm. Calyx 3-4mm. Petals purplish, but more deeply along lower one, and dividing into 4-7 elliptic sefmenrs 3-4 x 3mm, appressed pubescent Fl. July-September

Small shrub with pubescent young branches; leaves trifoliate on up to 8 cm long petiole, terminal leaflet up to 15 cm long, lateral leaflets smaller, elliptic to broadly lanceolate; flowers white or pinkish with darker keel, 6-8 mm long, in lax erect raceme; pod 3-5 cm long, 6-10 jointed, both sutures constricted, pubescent.
