Barbarea vulgaris Aiton from Gulmarg and Pahalgam in Kashmir:

Syn: Barbaraea vulgaris var. taurica Hook. f. & T. And.; Barbaraea arcuata (Opiz ex Presl) Reichenb.
Common names: Yellow rocket, wintercress, bittercress
Very easily identified from B. intermedia by uppermost cauline leaves being undivided, sessile, amplexicaule at base, irregularly toothed and slightly upcurved siliqua, and basal leaves with much larger cordate terminal lobe.
Erect glabrous herbs up to 80 cm tall with angled branched stem; basal leaves petiolate with up to 8 cm long petiole, with large ovate to orbicular and cordate terminal lobe and 1-3 pairs of very small lateral lobes; upper cauline leaves ovate to suborbicular, amplexicaul, irregularly dentate; flowers yellow, in condensed raceme, elongating in fruit; bracts absent; pedicel up to 7 mm in fruit; sepals yellow, oblong 3-4 mm long; petals spatulate, yellow, 5-6 mm long; siliqua linear, 15-28 mm long, less than 1.5 mm broad, slightly upcurved terminating in slender 2-3 mm long style.

Most of the Brassicaceae sp. look so similar, really difficult to arrive at ID in absence of key characters. Now i understand why … always insists for the photographs of leaves and other key characters.

Srinagar, April 2023 :: Barbarea vulgaris (??) for ID :: ARK2023-002: 4 heic images.
This small shrub was captured at Tangmarg, J&K in April 2023.
Looks like Barbara vulgaris based on eFI pics.
Requested to please confirm.

Yes … it is Barbarea vulgaris, but HEIK files of Iphone don’t open in Google mail.

You may either convert to JPG (using Paint, or IlovemyJPG online software (30 images at a time) or any other conversion software. Otherwise if you are taking plant photographs you may change settings in your iphone to JPG saving:
1. Go to Iphone settings
2. click Camera
3. Click Format and tick Most compatible (High Efficiency HEIK format would get changed to JPEG) and you will save all your future pictures images as JPG

And yes, I will convert these into JPG and then upload.
I also could not solve the orientation problem. So conversion to jpg will be the best option.

I had suggested earlier also, FOR ALL IPHONE OWNERS WHO HAVE TO SUBMIT PICTURES TO WEBSITES.
Converting each HEIK File (or in batches up to 30 using ILovemyimg online) takes a lot of time. we should change setting in Iphone to save directly as JPG
Settings……….> Camera…………….>   Format………………> tick Most compatible in place of High Efficiency

Thanks Sir ji for the advice. I have already updated the settings for the future.
However, these were already clicked with the older settings and now I am converting them to jpg before posting them here.
