ANMAR34/54 Please identify this herb : 7 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (6)
Family: Rubiaceae The stipules are pectinate. They are cut up/divided. Please see the attached photo.
Using this feature and referring the Hassan flora, I can narrow down to the genera Neanotis, Oldenlandia, Knoxia, Borreria and Mitracarpus (please see attached photo again). I cannot go further as I do not know the nature and number of ovules and locules of the ovary in the plant I have photographed. Neanotis sp? Neanotis species in eFIoraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available) I guess it is Knoxia mollis (synonym of K. sumatrensis). Please help me for the identification of some Hedyotis species collected recently (19.12.13) from grasslands in Kerala, above an altitude of 2100m.
This may be Hedyotis eualata (Gamble) Henry & Subram. Hedyotis eualata is different. What is the final id ? No. Different. Exallage auricularia (L.) Bremek. ?? Knoxia sumatrensis, perhaps. . Knoxia sumatrensis (Retz.) DC. Yes, it is Knoxia sumatrensis dear …, thank you very much for ID my plant, Knoxia wightiana and Knoxia hookeriana (no details) are also reported from the district as per Flora of Peninsular India, in addition to Knoxia sumatrensis. Yes, it is Knoxia sumatrensis, dear …, thank you very much for ID my plant, . Knoxia sumatrensis (Retz.) DC. Knoxia roxburghii (Sprengel) M. A. Rau may also be reported (POWO) from the area with keys at Flora of China. Looks different from Knoxia roxburghii subsp. brunonis (Wall. ex G.Don) R.Bhattacharjee & Deb and Knoxia roxburghii var. glauca (W.W.Sm.) R.Bhattacharjee & Deb, which may be reported from your area as per POWO. I guess inflorescence pattern is different in roxburghii ! . Location: Surkhet, West Nepal
Altitude: 438m.
