To me it appears like a Ruellia though I may be wrong

I attach herewith some specimens for identification
Place: Balamathy Forest Area, Vellore, Tamilnadu
Date: 21-06-15
It was nearly 1.5 feet height. No thorns present.
It may be Barleria sp.

Please help me to identify this herb species. I think this belongs to Acanthaceae. I could not observe the flowers.
Plant: 2-3 feet high
Leaf: 8 cm long
Habitat: weed in a garden (also seen near a fallow land)
