The tree is distinct from S. paniculata uploaded (identified by …) from the same area earlier, in being small evergreen tree with narrower lanceolate leaves, very finely toothed and flowers in axillary spike-like racemes of 4-8 flowers. The petals are smaller and rounded at tip.
Photographed along Ukhimath Chopta Road in Uttarakhand.

As always, your ID is correct Sir. I also checked it with Osmaston’s flora and find same result- S.ramosissima.

Thanks a lot … for confirmation.

Please help in the identification of this plant: It is a medium sized tree in association with Quercus, Rhododendron…

This is Symplocos sp.

Yes it is a Symplocos. Can you please go through the Osmaston (1927) where it is mentioned.

Thank you Sir,
I checked and it is closed to S. ramosissima.
S. ramosissima have about 20 stamens as per Fl. Garhwal and Fl. Himalaya but in this no. of stamens are more than 35.
