Fagonia schweinfurthii syn F. cretica.

Fagonia arebica/ F. schweinfurthii

Characters are not clear in the photographs.

I observed the following characters
leaves trifoliate below and unifoliate above
stem quadrangular
Branches appeared to be glandular
Based on these characters, I believe it is Fagonia bruguieri DC.

Key to Fagonia in BSI Flora of India, clearly differentiates  Fagonia bruguieri DC.  on the basis of spines longer than leaves and stem 4-angled, seen in photographs. That confirms Fagonia bruguieri DC.

Spiny Herb for ID, Rajasthan, NAW-JAN15-05 : 7 posts by 4 authors. Attachments (3)

Kindly identify this spiny herb photographed at a lakebed in Ajmer district, Rajasthan in December 2014.

Thin fleshy leaves about 2-4 cm long.

Fagonia species

May this be Fagonia indica?

Yes fagonia

efi page on Fagonia indica
Fagonia species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available)

It is Fagonia cretica

Fagonia cretica does not occur in India as per distribution list of major databases as also BSI Flora of India. This is I think F. bruguieri only.
