Here with images taken by the Late Krishan Lal at some 2300-2400m Haripurdhar, H.P.
The ‘Large Bellflower’ is described and illustrated in ‘Flowers of the Himalaya’. Known from forests & shrubberies @ 2100-3000m from Pakistan to Central Nepal.
Stewart recorded this as common in Kashmir, so surprising there have been no images posted from there. 2700-3700m. He also found it in Suru.
It is not recorded in the most up-to-date check-list for Ladakh (Kilmes & Dickore).
Flora of Lahaul-Spiti recorded it as common on moist slopes at Sissu.
Flora Simlensis recorded it from woods at Huttoo.
Roy Lancaster recorded this from Dachigam.
‘Plants of Gulmarg’ (Naqshi, Singh & Koul) record it among shrubs and moist places at Gulmarg.
Flowers of Himalaya describe the flower colour as dark blue-purple but Mrs Suri, former Proprietor of P.Kohli & Co., knew a white form from Gulmarg.
My team found it north of Pahlgam during the 1983 Kashmir Botanical Expedition.
It is found in the UK in woods and hedgebanks – widely distributed but local in Great Britain.
