Nandi Hills
1st October 2014

This species has not been mentioned in Flora of India Vol 23 (2012).
Pl. see Scurrula

This appears to be Scurrula buddleioides (Desr.) G. Don (Loranthus buddleioides Desr.), a Chinese species, which finds no place in Flora of India vol 23

Following the key given in Fl. India, this species comes near to S. pulverulenta, but differs from it in the brown scurfy stellate tomentum on flower buds, flowers and leaves beneath, whereas in S. pulverulenta the hairs are white stellate. Further the lobes of petals are dark reddish inside, whereas in S. pulverulenta is greenish inside.

Your plants need further investigation for confirmation. Dr Rajasekaran who worked out the family for Flora of India may be able to help. His address is: …………….

Thank you very much sir.
