The India Biodiversity Portal consortium members invite all users to join us again this year for the annual IBP community meet. A day of fun, learning and discussion on biodiversity documentation. The event will be held at NGMA, Bangalore on 20th February. Register your spot for this event today.
The Programme:
Keynote speaker: Dr. Suhel Quader is a scientist at the Nature Conservation Foundation with interests in citizen science and public participation. He has been involved with initiatives like the Migrant Watch and Season Watch in collaboration with the National Centre for Biological Sciences as well as other partners. He will speak on “The role of citizen science in understanding and conserving nature”. Species Identification with the experts: A series of short presentations by expert members of the IBP community on spotting and identifying the most common species around us. Learn to identify common ants, dung beetles, dragonflies, frogs, grasshoppers, lizards, molluscs, plants and spiders. This will be followed by breakout sessions for hands on interaction with the experts in identifying species. Accompany experts for an outdoor walk to spot specimens, or interact with them on preserved specimens or digital resources.
