“It is Vernonia saligna DC. …” Location : N.Vanlaiphai to Chekawn road, Mizoram
Date : 14-12-2016 Habit : Slender herb ? Habitat : Wild Pl. Check comparative images at EFI. Species in this genus has been shifted to other genera. I think close to images at Acilepis saligna (DC.) H.Rob. . By checking all the species at Species with distribution in annotated checklist of Flowering plants of Nepal, closest I can go is Vernonia subsessilis as per GBIF specimens- one, two and three. But I feel phyllaries are a bit different. As per comparative images at Vernonieae, it appears close to images and details at Decaneuropsis vagans (Wall. ex DC.) H. Rob. & Skvarla, but distribution is shown only upto the border of Nepal as per POWO and CoL.
I am not sure for both the cases, you referred, … Leaves of Decaneuropsis vagans look like having entire margins, not dentate. Please also check probability of Acilepis squarrosa D.Don, though I am not sure of it either. Yes, I agree. But, it appears to be the same plant as posted by … at MS March,2018/05 Vernonia sp. for ID I told you Sir, that I am not sure about Acilepis squarrosa D.Don.
Some possibility is there, but looks different as per images at Gymnanthemum extensum
I think the posted plant by … appears to be scandent from the first image. Further open flowers will help as buds can be deceptive many times. Well, Sir, Vernonia extensa DC (.Gymnanthemum extensum (DC.) Steetz) is an erect 6-8 ft herb. So, it is now rejected as a possibility. Any match to https://www.gbif.org/species/7606259 ! Two problems for V. scandens, … – (1) leaf margin is not entire in your specimen (2) distribution in Nepal is not listed in KEW. Ok This is Vernonia saligna as per FoC illustration and as per GBIF specimens (one and two). Location: Phulchoki, Lalitpur, Nepal
Date: 11 March 2023
Altitude: 1825m.
Habitat : Wild Again try to check the species listed below: This is Vernonia saligna as per FoC illustration and as per GBIF specimens (one and two). .
Acilepis aspera (Buch.-Ham.) H. Robinson ?? I think more closer to images at
