Acilepis saligna (DC.) H.Rob., 226 1999. (syn: Cacalia saligna Kuntze; Conyza laeta hort.calc. ex C.B.Clarke; Conyza saligna Wall. [Illegitimate]; Vernonia longicaulis DC.; Vernonia martinii Vaniot; Vernonia saligna DC.; Vernonia saligna var. nilghirensis Hook.f.; Vernonia sequinii Vaniot);

  


Subshrubs, to 1.5 cm high; stem terete, wooly-tomentose. Leaves 8-12 x 2-3 cm, elliptic, acuminate at both ends, distantly crenate-serrate, pubescent along the nerves beneath; petiole 1.5-3 cm long. Panicle terminal, lax, to 25 cm across; branches strigose. Heads 5-6 x 7 mm; involucral bracts 2-3-seriate, dissimilar, outer bracts linear, 6 mm long, sharply acuminate, inner 6 x 1 mm, lanceolate, 3-nerved, hairy. Flowers few, similar; corolla 5 mm long, glabrous; anthers 2 mm long. Achenes 1.5 mm long, glandular between ribs; pappus r eddish-white; outer 0.5 mm long, setaceous, inner 4.5 mm long, setaceous.
