Undershrubs, up to 1 m tall; stems striate. Leaves simple, opposite decussate; stipules ca. 2 x 0.3 cm, foliaceous, linear-lanceolate; petioles ca. 1.5-4 cm long, shallow-grooved; lamina ca. 10-25 x 4-17 cm, ovate-lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, narrowed at base, acuminate at apex, obscurely crenate at margin; secondary nerves 10-15 pairs. Inflorescences in axillary or terminal ca. 4-6 cm long umbellate cymes; Flowers pale yellow; peduncles ca. 2-3 cm long, slender puberulous; bracts subulate, ca. 0.3 cm; pedicels ca. 0.5 cm long; calyx-lobes linear-lanceolate, ca. 2 x 0.5 mm, ciliate; corolla-tube very short; throat villous within. Fruits ca. 1 x 0.8 cm, ellipsoid with persistent calyx-teeth, orange-yellow.
