A tree 30-40 ft. Leaflets 4-7 by 1-2.1/2 in., broadest below the middle, in young trees but sparingly toothed or lobed ; petiolules often 1-2 in. Panicle 12-18 in., lower branches usually compound ; bracts very short, ovate, auriculate ; pedicels 1/2-3/4 in., glabrous pubescent or stellately woolly ; buds usually glabrous.
