Decumbent herb,60-90cm.Stems straggling,branched,pubescent above,glabrescent below,often dull purple.Leaves ovate to ovate-oblong,2-8.4 x 1.6-4.6cm,acute,base rounded,margins irregularly serrate,both surfaces sparsely pilose and with numerous sessile glands;petiole 0.8-4cm.Spikes 3.5-14 x 2cm;whorls distant or conferted.Pedicels 1-2.5mm,lower 2 slightly longer.Corolla mauve to violet,6.5-7mm;lobes ± oblong,1-2mm.Stamens exserted beyond corolla for 4mm.Nutlets subglobose,rounded trigonous,0.9 x 0.9mm.
