Habit: Deciduous trees, up to 35 m tall.
Trunk & Bark: Bark brownish, flaking in small scales, lenticellate; blaze reddish.
Branches and branchlets: Young branchlets terete, minutely grey pubescent.
Exudates: Latex white, profuse.
Leaves: Leaves simple, alternate, spiral; stipules small caducous, leaving scars on either side of petiole; petiole 1-3 cm long, terete, grey pubescent; lamina 10-30. 5 x 5.5-11 (-16) cm, oblong to oblong-lanceolate, apex caudate-acuminate, base acute to rounded or subtruncate, margin entire (sometimes serrate when young), coriaceous, glabrous above except midrib, velvety grey pubescent beneath; midrib slightly raised above; secondary nerves 10-14 pairs; tertiary nerves broadly reticulate.
Inflorescence / Flower: Inflorescene axillary; flowers unisexual; male flowers in globose heads, peduncules 1-1.8 cm long; female flowers in globose heads, anthocarp completely united.
Fruit and Seed: Syncarp (sorosis), to 5 cm across, subglobose, yellow when ripe; seeds many.
