Pl. Check comparative images at EFI. Species in this genus has been shifted to other genera.

I think close to images at Acilepis saligna (DC.) H.Rob.

Vernonia??

By checking all the species at Species with distribution in annotated checklist of Flowering plants of Nepal, closest I can go is Vernonia subsessilis as per GBIF specimens- onetwo and three. But I feel phyllaries are a bit different.

As per comparative images at Vernonieae, it appears close to images and details at Decaneuropsis vagans (Wall. ex DC.) H. Rob. & Skvarla, but distribution is shown only upto the border of Nepal as per POWO and CoL.

I am not sure for both the cases, you referred, … Leaves of Decaneuropsis vagans look like having entire margins, not dentate. Please also check probability of Acilepis squarrosa D.Don, though I am not sure of it either.

Yes, I agree.
That also puts Decaneuropsis vagans (Wall. ex DC.) H. Rob. & Skvarla under doubt as leaves are not entire.
Also looks different from Acilepis squarrosa D.Don as per GBIF specimens- one and two.

But, it appears to be the same plant as posted by … at MS March,2018/05 Vernonia sp. for ID

I told you Sir, that I am not sure about  Acilepis squarrosa D.Don.
Now, after a little searching I come across more than one probability, for I do not have description (1) herb, or climber (… guess), or shrub, size of the head(s) etc.
However, first check the probability of Gymnanthemum extensum (DC.) Steetz and let me know your view (then I will try alternatives). You may visit –

Some possibility is there, but looks different as per images at Gymnanthemum extensum
I think the posted plant by … appears to be scandent from the first image.

Further open flowers will help as buds can be deceptive many times.

Well, Sir, Vernonia extensa DC (.Gymnanthemum extensum (DC.) Steetz) is an erect 6-8 ft herb. So, it is now rejected as a possibility.
There are a number of scandent Vernoia that have similar phyllaries. One is V. scandens = Decaneuropsis obovata (Gaudich.) H.Rob.. But it has no distribution in Nepal (KEW).
Another one is Vernonia andersonii C.B.Clarke., which is not in this case.
We may need to look further.

Any match to https://www.gbif.org/species/7606259 !

Two problems for V. scandens, … – (1) leaf margin is not entire in your specimen (2) distribution in Nepal is not listed in KEW.
V. blanda of FoC is also similar, but with an entire leaf margin! Similarly V. elliptica also have an entire leaf margin.
Yet, I couldn’t find any other alternative (of a scandent nature) either in FoC or in Flora of British India.

Ok

This is Vernonia saligna as per FoC illustration and as per GBIF specimens (one and two).
This is after a thorough check including keys in Flora of Bhutan.
