Please help to id this Heracleum sp from Matheran. … this is most probably Peucedanum grande of Apiaceae. thanks for the suggestion, …, Agree with … This looks like the Hill Carrot / Wild Carrot [Heracleum grande previously Peucedanum grande] to me. Have this on my property at Shahapur. I had kept this plant as H. grande up until now. Heracleum dalgadianum S.M.Almeida, by classification must be “grayish- hirsute/hirtellus….atleast on the lower surface of leaves” (Almeida, Fl. of MH. vol.4: 354). But the one posted by … seems to be totally glabrous. It can be either Heracleum grande or Heracleum aquilegifolium. Based on the leaves, I stick to H.grande (Dalzell & A. Gibson) Mukhop. . This is one of the earlier pics. Seen this at Sinhagad, Pune, a hill in Aug 2014.
Requested to please ID.
… the leaf and venation reminds me of Peucedanum grande … but looks like miniature version, perhaps due to habitat, not sure. Thank you … Attaching another pic of the flowers, although not very clear. I think it fits Peucedanum grande … Let us wait for someone to validate the ID. This had been earlier identified as Heracleum grande when I had posted it for the first time (Sinhagad, Aug 2014 :: Requesting ID of this plant :: ARKAUG-06)
I had somehow missed the first post and inadvertently posted this the second time.
Would like opinion on whether this is Heracleum grande or Peucedanum grande.
