Erect annual herb, well-branched , up to 70 cm tall; leaves opposite, ovate-lanceolate or oblong, clasping at base, 3-10 cm long; flowers pink or rose, in long peduncled compound cymes; calyx club-shaped, 10-nerved, 16-20 mm long, nerves prominent; petals bifid, with scales at the base of limb.

Kindly help with species identification Looking like Silene armeria in flower characteristics, but it was very small in size. It was hardly 6 inch in height and only with a few very small leaves.
