Plant Habit- Tree/ Shrub/ Climber/ Herb- shrubs
Leaves Type/ Shape/ Size- Leaf 6-8X3-5cm, serrated
Inflorescence Type/ Size- as seen in the photos
Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts- Yellowish,
Fruits Type/ Shape/ Size Seeds- Not seen

This can be a Barleria sp.

Yes Barleria …… but not sure of the species

What about Barleria prionitis

Barleria cristata may also be considered

This may not be Barleria at all. Certainly not B. prionitis, nor B. cristata, at least.

… flower shape and texture reminds of Strobilanthes.

Please look for yellow flowered Acanthaceae other than Barleria cristata and B. prionitis as suggested by …

…i think this is Barleria prionitis

…, please have a look at this link for B. prionitis flowers. They are completely different from the posted ones. And the plant is spiny in B. prionitis, with prominent, white spines.

04102011 Acanthaceae Herb from Pune for ID:  Herb 30-50 cm tall; stem slender, quandrangular. Leaves opposite, 5-12 cm, membranous, dark green, glabrous, elliptic, acuminate, tapering at base, nerves 5-8 pairs. Flowers sessile in axillary (2-5 cm) and terminal (10-15 cm) fascicled cymes; corolla 2 lipped, 5-8 mm, white with violet spots on three lobed lower lip. Capsules not seen.

nothing great in this ‘find’ because this is a surprise in my home garden. Sorry, hence no information about natural habitat and distribution.
