This plant does not seem to be the common cup-saucer plant Breynia retusa; the “saucer” is missing here. The plant was about 2m high on the slope; the pendant male flowers about 10 – 12 mm long, about 4 – 5 mm across. The spherical fruits were about 7 – 8 mm dia; not very sure. Breynia ¿ species ? … (family: Phyllanthaceae, Euphorbiaceae) As the saucer is missing, the other common Indian species, Breynia vitis-idaea should be considered. Yes I agree with your identification Thank you very much … for the affirmation. Names of Plants in India :: Breynia vitis-idaea (Burm.f.) C.E.C.Fisch. : 6 posts by 2 authors. I get the following names as per Flora of India (compiled from literature and field notes):
Beng.: Kalisitki, Kamkatajuli, Silpati; Hindi: Tikhar; Kan.: Billisulli, Kaadu nugge; Mal.: Chuvanna-niruri, Kattu-niruri, Pavalapulah, Pavilapulu; Or.: Jajan; Sant.: Kadupala, Karki; Tam.: Kattuniruri, Manipullanti, Pomarai, Seppulae, Sithuruvam; Tel.: Adavimunaga, Balli, Ettapurugudu, Yellari.
Now there is no need to give a hyphen to join the words vitis and idaea.
I appreciate the photography. Many many thanks … for appreciation and more information related to names. I will scan and send you the references (JPEG) tomorrow. Sorry. the hyphen in this case, i.e. vitis-idaea will stay. I have checked Article 60.9. of ICN.

At Flowers of India http://www.flowersofindia.MountainCoffeeBush…, I tend to agree with .. id on account of leaf shape and the length of pedicel in male flowers.
