I found some fotos and articles You did in the internet and so I came to Your contact.
It is a special plant that is interesting for me: the Ceasalpinia Sappan (Redwood), a little tree whose wood was used for dyeing (coloration) and also for red colors for painting.
It is especially interesting for me because its wood was also used in Europe for coloring and also (after a special treatment) for painting.
May introduce myself a little bit: I was teaching for 8 years at the University of applied art in vienna and I prepare at the moment an exhibition in a big art institution in Vienna.
The exhibition is about paints, dyestuffs and other painting materials and its historic use…
And so I came to the idea to ask You about more information about this plant…
e. g. where does it grow? Is it a wild plant or is it planted?
