How common is the species as compared to C.diffusa? I believe this C. perfoliata is found in southern Western Ghats, though not sure whether it occurs as commonly as C. diffusa.

After discussions with experts (thanks to …), my insufficient pics were tentatively identified as Canscora decussata…
I could not plan a visit to the area again to record more pics of the same.. posting again for some hints..

Which Canscora species : Attachments (1). 6 posts by 5 authors. Flowering observed in mid of October in Kanha Tiger Reserve (Part of Satpuda range and Maikal Range – Madhya Pradesh). Is it Canscora Pauciflora (Which is otherwise suppose to be endemic to Western Ghat is it Canscora decussata???? Without additional information and pictures to see the habit leaves and calyx it would be difficult to reach id confirmation. I haven`t seen C diffusa having white color flowers….. usually it is pink . And mid of october, in my per se is too early for this tiny herb. I Agree with …
From the image it seems to be C. diffusa. The species shows colour variation from pink to white.
