Cyanotis fasciculata var. glabrescens ……………Plant is glabrous and adopted to high altitude habitat, having monocoloured moniliform hairs on the filament and seeds are having striations on it surfaces. Cyanotis fasciculata var. fasciculata ………..Plant is covered with cobwebby hairs, more succulent habit, occurs in low land even in xeric habitat, filamental hairs are bicoloured and seeds are without any striations on while more pitted.

Cyanotis fasciculata is common across old world tropics recorded from Eastern Himalaya, southern India and Sri Lanka
Native: Bhutan; India (Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu); Nepal; Sri Lanka; Viet Nam
It grows on moist soil in grasslands, fields, wet rocky areas. This species is not considered as a freshwater plant under the criteria of the evaluators.
(From IUCN Red List (LC)) . Stem procumbent, tufted, covered with cottony hairs. Leaves to 3 x 0.7 cm, lanceolate, falcate, folded, rounded at base, long-hairy; sheath 1.5 cm long, saccate. Cymes axillary, solitary; peduncles 2 cm long; bracts 2 x 0.5 cm, lanceolate, acuminate; bracteoles 2-4 pairs, 10 x 4 mm, falcate, acute. Flowers few, sessile; sepals 5 x 2 mm, united at the base, not keeled, hairy; corolla tube 6 mm long, campanulate, lobes obtuse, blue; filaments 8 mm long, bearded; style densely hairy, bulged below the stigma. Capsule 2.5 mm long, pilose at apex. Flowering and fruiting: October-January

Photographed this small wild herb , in Pune in Sep 2011. Levaes were pubescent ( white soft hairs). I think it is Cyanotis fasciculata Probably Cyanotis arachnoides No doubt, yes it is Cyanotis fasciculata.
