Since the flower here is on a stalk longer than the leaves, I have doubts whether I am identifying it correctly. Please advise. Please try upload pictures of leaves and habit of the plant for better learning and id the plant with confidence. Just flowers may always create doubts and resulted in assumptions rather than confirmation of the id.

Commonly seen at Malshej : 7 posts by 6 authors. Attachments (1) This yellow flower, having a corolla just 2 cm across, pedicel about 5 cm long, corolla of 6 petals, 3 stamens with distinct anthers and leaves like blades of grass, was to be seen everywhere in Malshej. Could anyone throw light on its identity please? there is also a white variety of it? I have similarlooking in my garden, but will have to wait till april / may next year. Searching in Wikipedia, I could not find Hypoxis aurea listed, although I came across 13 sps of the genus. One of the common names mentioned for the genus was Yellow Star-grass. Flowers are presumably yellow. The name ‘ grass ‘ is a misnomer, since the flower is unlike a grass, but lily-like in family hypoxidaceae, sometimes being included in Amaryllidaceae family or the Liliaceae family.
