Lysimachia maritima is a species belonging to the family Primulaceae. It was previously called Glaux maritima, the only species in the monotypic genus Glaux.[1] The species has a number of common names, including sea milkwort, sea milkweed, and black saltwort.
Lysimachia maritima has a circumpolar distribution in the northern hemisphere and is native to Europe, central Asia and North America.[2] The species grows mainly in coastal habitats in Europe but also occurs in mesic interior habitats in Asia and North America, in both wet ground and water. It is known from alkaline meadows in desert regions in Utah, at elevations of up to 2600 m (8500 ft).[3]
This plant differs from all other genera of the Primulaceae in having apetalous flowers with a pink, petaloid calyx. It is generally pentamerous both in the calyx and the seed capsule. The leaves are fleshy, simple and opposite.[4]:519

Seen this small herb on sand dunes at Nubra Valley, hundar, ladakh.
(Altitude: 10000 ft).

Strangely, this closely resembles with Bacopa monnierii, but the habitat…??

I can rule out Bacopa monnieri (which Stewart lists under Bramia monnieri). Stewart records this as a very common prostrate herb in wet soil all over Pakistan at lower levels – ascending to 1300m.  Yes, there is some similarity but the foliage and flowers do not quite match.
My thinking is Glaux maritima – which Stewart records from alkaline swamps incl. in Ladakh to 4500m; a number of subspecies are known but do not know which the forms in Ladakh belong to, assuming I am correct.

Location – Hill Slope near Panamik (Nubra Valley) Ladakh
Altitude – Around 4000 m
Date – June 09, 2011
Flowers around 5 to 7 mm in size

I hope Saxifraga sp.

To me it is not Saxifraga since flowers have 5 stamens only (as visible to me in the pics). Saxifrags have 10 stamens.
