Kindly examine and identify this Oberonia sp (Orchidaceae)

Habit:Wild, herb

Habitat: Epiphytic, Evergreen forest

Sighting: Kottigehara, near Chikmagalur, Karnataka, about 1200 msl

This pic is not clear, I assume the flowers were very tiny. But if I had to decide with what I can make out from the flowers, this should be Oberonia brachystachys. Please do share a better closeup of the flower if possible or you may make a small sketch of labellum.

Thanks … for the feed back. I will try to revisit the specimen next flowering season and forward some neat images if possible. Till then I will take it as O.brachystachys.

It does look like Oberonia brachystachys.

Oberonia recurva flowering:
Photographed at my farm at Shahapur today (6.2.11). Presume this is Oberonia recurva. Sending a few photographs.

Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful pics. Oberonias are very tricky, and hence I cant confirm from myside without seeing a good picture of the lip. I would be grateful if you can send some more closeups. Though I know plant is too small and even smaller are the flowers!!

Thanks for your feedback. Sending a few more photographs of the orchids. They were taken by my friend Jayesh Timbadia. Hope this helps you to identify it.

I am not very much sure about the identity.. Is there any possibilty for Oberonia brachyphylla

Can you please send me a better resolution pictures of closeup of flower/  I need to compare it with other specimens of …

I think this is either Oberonia recurva or brachyphylla. On the basis of narrow oblong petals which is triangular in O. recurva, this is Oberonia brachyphylla.
