Garden Bush for ID : Oman : 240612 : AK-1:
A very common cultivated, garden bush, Height approx. 6-8 feet. Pictures taken on 15/6/12 in Muscat.
Not seen it flowering.
Resembles the Kewda.
Pandanus species? A species of Pandanus, I guess. Could this be Pandanus tectorius, Hala, Screw Pine? Adding few more pictures taken recently. It is one of the cultivated Pandanus species.
Most of the cultivated species are develops from Pandanus odorifer by breeding techniques. Only one introduced sps., Pandanus tectorius Parkinson ex Du Roi is
recorded in Oman and looks good.
