Wight Ill. ii. 16 ; leaves ovate or ovate-lanceolate narrowed below acuminate subcoriaceous pale pellucid-punctate, lateral nerves prominent widely separated, cymes lateral short compact, flowers small, berry round. Leaves 3-5 by 1-1.1/2 in. ; petiole 3/8 in. Inflorescence-branches compressed, angular. Calyx-tube truncate. Petals united, or sometimes becoming free.

Myrtaceae may be possible. But I have not come across this specimen.. 


Is it some syzygium species ? Pl. help.


Any possibility of Syzygium caryophyllatum (L.) Alston since it has got distribution in Myanmar ?

Could you help identifying this plant.
Tree upto 20 m, Fruits edible, yellow when ripe.
Place:240 m, foothills of Chure, Chitwan

It should be Syzygium cumini (L.) Skeels.

No other matching according to the efn. According to the Nepali name it seems so but cannot confirm.

It might be Syzygium kurzii.
